About Me

Born in Tabriz, raised in Maragheh by wonderful parents, a Malekani (a person who is from Malekan) father and a Tabrizi (a person from Tabriz) mother, here I am in London, Ontario! "What?", you may wonder. In case you don't know, Iran has a very diverse population and Azeri (or Turkic) ethnicity forms about 16% (according to Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethnicities_in_Iran) of the population of the country. And guess what?! I'm one of that many people! I've been taught Persian (Farsi) language in school but my mother tongue is South Azerbaijani (NOT the country, the language - which is a little different than Azerbaijani: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azerbaijani_language) which, due to some weird regulations, we never got the chance to learn our mother tongue in school. Complicated indeed, huh?! But I've managed to be a decent Azerbaijani folklore dancer! Even more complicated?! I was living happily in Maragheh until I moved to Tehran to pursue my university studies as an undergraduate student. During that time (4 years, quite a lifetime!) I tried as hard as I could to gain experience through volunteering, camping, hiking and especially, through travelling and surfing (even when I didn't have enough money)! I decided to continue my graduate studies here in Canada and here I am in London, Ontario! I cannot accept any guests now but I will be able to do so, soon!
