About Me

Oh i'm not good at writing about myself hahaha.

I'm a pretty laid back person, traveling the world, involving myself in marine conservation work and working either as a scuba diving or whale watching guide, seeing the oceans, its inhabitants and the state of them for myself, helping out where i can. I love to listen to people talk about their adventures and misadventures haha their life and dreams, their notions on the universe, reality, human history, our ability face the challenges we set before us.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am keen to meet some likeminded local people on my trip through the world and see the cities and towns they live in as they do. Meeting families and living with them in my opinion one of the best ways of seeing the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I have a vast range from Enya and Vangelis to Muse and Dragonforce

Movies: Contact and Infinity War are probably my all time favorite movies. I am a comicbook nerd so i have watched my fair share of related movies, Captain America: Civil War and Winter Soldier being my favorites. I love watching documentaries regarding nature, the universe, the state of society, history, travel, science. Carl Sagans Cosmos series, anything from Sir David Attenborough, Michel Palin, Brian Cox, Simon Reeves, Ross Kemp or Neil Degrasse Tyson are among favorites.

Books: The Illiad, and books from Dan Brown are some of the few fictional books i have read and enjoyed in the recent past. But i am more into non fictional books by Richard Dawkins, Carl Sagan, Michio Kaku, to name a few. I also prefer reading books or journals about early documented European explorations of the world.

I love cats and dogs. Cats more though haha

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Conquering my fear of deep water by scuba diving. Ironically i studied marine biology whilst i still had a fear of deep water and before i began scuba diving. It was only after i graduated that i decided in the spirit of the moment to apply for a PADI Open Water course. I still remember taking the first step off the back end of a boat and into open water. Heart was racing, I was breathing intensely, i put my right hand on mask and regulator and my left on my waist, i slowed down my breathing and did something i always wanted to do but had a fear of at the same time. I leaped off the boat and into the water that teemed with a variety of fish. And since then have earned my PADI Divemaaster qualification and now i am a professional Dive Guide, soon i aim to go all the way to Instructor level and help others conquer their fear of deep water.
