ABOUT ME

I finished my 7-year service in the Israeli army about a year ago and since then I've been enjoying the freedom with all kinds of adventures. I started with six incredible months in Africa - a challenging, enlightening and priceless experience. From there, after a short visit back in Israel, I packed my bags and moved to Berlin for the next six months. During this time I plan on finishing my Bachelor's degree while making the most of my time in Europe by going to as many concerts as possible (I LOVE music) and seeing as many places as I have money and time for.
Other than that, as I said I really really love music. I play guitar and drums but my passion is first of all towards other people's music of all types and genres. I enjoy reading and I try to do that as much as possible. My sport is running - last year I ran my first full Marathon and now after a long time of traveling and not running I am working on getting back in shape. And finally, I of course enjoy very much going out with friends and meeting new people - but why would I be here otherwise? :)

PHILOSOPHY

This is a big one, I'm not sure I'm qualified to answer this yet - even for myself. But I can say that I try to make good use of my time in this life - learn as much as possible, experience as much as possible, meet and get to know and understand as many people as possible, do as much good as I can. I believe love and positivity are a key to this.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd love both to surf and to host - overnight or just for going out. Anything goes, it all sounds like a lot of fun.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a lot of music and I try to expand my collection all the time. Here is a taste of the list of the bands I plan to see during my time in Europe: Broken Bells, Brand New, Arcade Fire, Lana del Rey, Pearl Jam, Skrillex, Kanye West, MGMT, The National, The Used, Sharon Van Etten, Biffy Clyro, Ellie Goulding, Jack Johnson, and as many others as I can get my hands on..

Books - I am very big on Leadership/Management/Self-Improvement books and my favorites are 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, First: Break all the Rules, and How to Win Friends and Influence People. I also love fiction - as a kid I was a big fan of the Harry Potter and Ender's Game series. And some other titles I really liked are The Fountainhead, Longtitudes and Attitudes, The Glass Castle.

Movies - my favorites are: Batman The Dark Knight, Black Swan, Zero Dark Thirty, Lincoln, The Big Lebowski, Garden State, Into the Wild, Juno, and more..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am very proud of my service in the Israeli army. If you are not from Israel you probably have little idea of what this experience is like and it's possible that what you do know is not very accurate because the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is such a heated topic. Political views aside, serving your country is a very rewarding experience and being a commander - someone who is in charge of other people's tasks and wellbeing - is an incredible and a unique and empowering challenge.
So, this is something that I did and I cherish very much. It's hard to channel the thoughts and feelings I have about it - but it's easier done in person than in a textbox, so I'd be happy to try :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Some stuff I know about is:
- Computers, this was my field in the army so I've gained quite a bit of knowledge and experience.
- Management, I was a commander for 5 years
- Hebrew / English, I speak both at mother tongue level
- Music, my great passion. I have a lot to say about this and if you don't stop me I will say it all!
