I am a 24 year old student, currently studying medicine at Umeå University. When I am not studying I spend time discovering new things and I thoroughly enjoy meeting new people as it is a way to learn new things. I would like to think of myself as an open-hearted and curious person, but I guess you will have to make up your minds about that for yourselves!

I am on here because I think that the best way to discover places is through the people living there. My best travelling experiences have been when I have been shown both sides of a new places: the must-sees and the hidden gems. I am always interested in meeting new people and I think that these kinds of enterprises are fantastic ways of cultivating a world full of people with open minds and hearts.

Well, I like a lot of things. I am a voracious reader and an on-and-off-again tv-addict. I play the violin and sing a lot, I studied music in high school and when I have the time I like communal musical experiences, choir, orchestras etc.

I am a curious person and I enjoy learning new things and practising new skills. I like traveling and I enjoy meeting other people, both new acquaintances and old friends.

I have also spent a lot of my time doing amateur theatre productions. Both regular plays and musical theatre.

This is hard.

I will be as concise as possible. I like a lot of different music, I listen to everything from classical music and campy musical theatre tunes to reagge and rock. At the moment I have been listening to a lot Fleetwood Mac and different recordings of John Dowland's songs, otherwise I am partial to anything with the violin in it and music with nice harmonies.

I will watch pretty much anything with a good story, decent character-portrayals and a good music-score. I am partial to anything with well-written female characters and if it is a period-piece I am hooked.

I read a lot and to be honest I buy more books than I can possibly read. I am a sucker for historical books, factual and fictional. I like my classics and I thoroughly enjoy a well-written fantasy novel. I like my Austen, my Brontës and my Shakespeare. I was brought up on Harry Potter but I will read almost anything.

I took a very spontaneous road-trip to Norway in the summer of 2015 with two of my friends. We ended up going from the west coast of Sweden to the west coast of Norway and we were only away from home for three days, but we managed to see fjords, mountains and sheep! We climbed to the top of Preikestolen which is flat rock which is situated over Lysefjord. So there I was about 600 meters up just looking out over the fjord (or as far as I could see, we did not have the weather on our side) and I realised that this was so worth spending over 20 hours in a car!

I can always teach you Swedish even if you might not have a lot of use for it.

I love music and I would be happy to teach you Swedish songs, especially if you teach me some of your music in return.

If you ever happen to come by Varberg on the West Coast of Sweden where I am from I can give you a tour of the town, I also know Varberg Fortress and Castle by heart as it has been my place of work for the past few summers so if you want to know about Varberg in the 1600's I know more than your average Swede.

As a vegetarian I have a host of good vegetarian recipes that I can cook, I make a mean vegetarian lasagna! I have also mastered the art of making three different kind of pancakes (Swedish, American and French (crêpes)).

If you are feeling adventurous I can bring you Swedish liquorice. It is a way to join the debate on whether it is good or absolutely inedible, a question which has caused a rift in Sweden for quite a while ;)
