About Me

Hey!

I'm someone that loves to learn through travel and experience. Instead of reading a book I rather go to the place or talk to the people. I'm extremely grateful for my ability to roam the world and travel! I think it's important to be able to see how other people exist in order to have a better understanding of myself and the world around me.

I am Pakistani-American, but grew up in Singapore and was born near Chicago, USA. I have lived the last 5 years in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Last month I moved out of Philadelphia in order to travel and do my own work. My own work consists of providing medical care and medical education to anyone in need of it or where there is little or no access. Recently I was in Greece providing medical care to Syrian and Kurdish refugees. The last two weeks I have been traveling through the Balkans which has been incredible!

I deeply value humans and how important it is for everyone to feel empowered, loved and cared for, from things as basic to having food and shelter to getting a hot coffee and hug after three days of hiking in the rain! I loooove hiking, biking and any outdoor adventuring! I have hiked in Northern pakistan, sri lanka and recently Slovenia and Montenegro. I also loooove music, making music, dancing, making things with my hands, learning about history and culture. I'm usually down to jam (make music), go on adventures or stay up late talking about the world and politics and philosophy.

I'm really easy going, flexible and looove food! especially sweets, french fries and ice cream!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is not only an awesome way to meet people and travel cheap, but also fantastic for meeting locals and getting to explore a place through the eyes and understanding of someone from or who lives in the place. It's definitely important to me to meet people from a place and gain some incite into the culture, art, history and/or politics of the place or where some cool spots to hang, dance or just check out are! I am always grateful for a cheap/free place to chill/sleep and good company!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A friend and I found a puppy on top of Bobotuv tuk mountain in Durmitor National Park in Montenegro and we hiked down part of the way with the puppy! The puppy (bobo) then walked down on her own and took her own path, so hopefully the mountain gods are caring for her or she's found her dog clan...

Teach, Learn, Share

Oooh I wanna learn so many things! I wanna learn spanish, arabic, how to fix my cars, being better at fixing my bike, being better at growing food. I wanna learn how to make bread. I wanna learn how to make jewelry and sew with a sewing machine so I can make clothes! Also wanna learn more about herbal medicine/healing, thai massage, how to scuba dive and rock climb!

I am happy to share food, objects, adventuring! I am big on community and building/working together collectively!

Happy to teach whatever I'm able to if I know it confidently enough!
