ABOUT ME

Curious, easy to talk to, love to meet random people. Trying to learn the local languages.

PHILOSOPHY

Learn/Explore as much I possibly can. Trust in a persons goodness rather than being suspicious. Be ready to be proven wrong at any given moment, and then welcome change.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new on this site... surfed in South Korea. Vietnam hasn't been that forthcomming. Hoping Thailand is going to be better.
Hope to Host once I get my own place when I get back home in California

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a brand new couch surfer. I feel like I'm starting really late and should have done this a long time ago. Better late than never I guess.

Interests

Right now most of my time is spent trying to get my personal internet projects up and running.. hope to be professionally self-employed.
Otherwise.. I enjoy concerts, international cuisine, theater, snowboarding, coffee shops, politics, social entrepreneurship, diy/make culture, cooking.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies and TV are like an addiction. I watch way too much. I'm a big fan of foreign language, documentary, independing movies. few of my favorite movies are Adaptation, Run Lola Run.. among many many others.
I can spend hours just sitting and listening to/finding new music. Currently i'm on a movie scores binge.
I read when I have time.. which is not that often. This is one of the reason I need to cut back on tv and movies. Need to read more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During my 10 day hike through the Peruvian Andes mountains, we headed to see a small mountain village. As we were approaching all the village kids came up to our group asking for "carmelos" or candy. We were instructed by our guide not to hand out any candy because these kids don't have dental care and regular candy can be really bad for their teeth so I decided to give them some of my fruits instead. I handed one of my apples to a kid probably non older than 8 or 9. He took the apple and ran away yelling with joy "MANZAZNA!!!! MANZANA!!!! (apple)." I had never seen anyone so happy and grateful on receiving a single piece of fruit. It was one of the most humbling moments of my life.
