About Me

I have lived in London all my life but I am addicted to travelling. My first trip was to Canada at 6 months old. I'm luck enough to have parents that work for an airline so have visited many places! I still have many places yet to visit that are on my bucket list.

Weekends away help my blues go away but my favourite trips of all are when I go exploring for weeks at a time.

I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life, learning a little about them and their culture.

I am a huge foodie so if you can cook and well we will definitely get along!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am completely new to this. My first experience was attending the Hamburg Invasion event this year where I met so many wonderful people.

It made me see what I was missing so now I am here ready to surf!

Interests

I enjoy...
Cooking
Sleeping
Reading murder mysteries
Trying new places to eat
Seeing new things
Going to the movies and theatre
Socialising
And of course traveling!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen many amazing things however I'd say one amazing thing I’ve done has more value.

In 2011 I spent 3 months volunteering my time in Sri Lanka. I taught English at a youth centre and a few girl orphanages. I also offered my time at some special needs centre entertaining their patients. It was sad but also heart-warming how happy the patients were when we played with them.

I was with children and elderly men (some were not disabled at all, their family's had disowned them as they were no longer a value to them but a burden) the elderly men just wanted someone to talk to so I listened, the children and mentally disabled wanted to play games so each time I came up with something different and creative to do just to put a smile on their faces. It was evident the workers there made no effort with them at all.

I saw one mentally ill boy who was living in a cage. It was horrific but I found just the thing to make him smile. Bubbles, every time I visited blowing bubbles into his cage made him giggle and laugh and he ran around trying to catch them before the burst.

It shows how sweet innocence can be.

Although I love travelling and find it thoroughly rewarding it didn't compare to this experience. I would love to find the time to do it again.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well currently I do not live at my own place however there are times when the place is free and I'd be happy to host people. I have a lot of room so you could possibility have a bed for the night too!

I'm always happy to meet up, socialise and show the sites even if I am unable to host so please do get in touch!
