About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Develop a scale of EPICNESS and LEGENDARYNESS calibrated through my experiences around the World.

ABOUT ME

Science in is my genes, Nature in my heart, Art in my soul and Invention in my mind.

In other words, I am a collection of many interests. That is why I value the importance of learning and I am always eager to discover new things. This is also intimately related with something I want to achieve during this World Tour I am taking: - How I can link multidisciplinary knowledge, creativity, and sustainability to solve social problems?
I am outgoing, which is why "Yes" is one of my favorite answers. Wanna climb that mountain? Yes! Would you like to explore that abandoned mansion? Yes! Shall we chase some squirrels up the trees? Damn Yes! But I also appreciate a quiet evening at home (maybe we can play some board games?).

I am also very respectful, humble, honest, and I clean after myself. The rest is to be discovered once we go for a drink, a tour, or while just chilling.

PHILOSOPHY

"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." Ralph Waldo Emerson

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As I am embarking on a Round the World Tour, I decided to join the CS community in search for foreign hospitality and sharing adventures. Though new to the CS community, the concept is familiar to me, as I always prefer to stay at friends (and friends-of-friends) houses, whenever I have the chance to travel abroad, and I never lose an opportunity to host travelers referenced by friends and show them all the perks of my town.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Since I am on a long-turn travelling journey, I cannot be a host, but it is my wish, once I come back, to return all the love and hospitality I received.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
Anything that makes my feet move. Proof of that is my recently found interest for swing music that made me learn Lindy Hop. Play some Big Bands, like Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Count Basie, or Duke Ellington and I can´t stop dancing for hours.
But my main interests also include Folk, World music, Jazz, Indie, Rock (!!!AC-DC!!!), and Blues. Ooh, the bluuueees....

Movies:
Love to watch anything that includes adventure, fantasy, action, or mystery, but nothing beats Lord of the Rings (also my favorite book). And documentaries (always great to feed my scientific side).

Books:
Like in movies, my favorite books revolve around fantasy, adventure and mystery. Preferred writers include Tolkien, Jules Verne, Patrick Rothfuss, Alan Moore, Agatha Christie, Dan Brown, Clive Cussler, Raymond E. Feist, Paul Hoffman...

As I also love other visual arts, why not share my favorite painting styles? From impressionism (Monet, Renoir, or Sisley) and Art Nouveau (Alphonse Mucha), to BD illustration (Frank Miller, Hergé, or Bill Watterson) and Digital art (Android Jones).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

*Climbed the highest peak in the Iberian Peninsula and (partially) slid it down mounted on a flat rock as if it was a sleigh.
*Crossed an underground river from a Cenote to the outfall, at the Yucatán Peninsula (Mexico).
*Traveled by bike along the amazing Portuguese Alentejo coastline, with some of my close friends, trusting on my compass and cartography orientation skills.
*Posed with a bunch of random people as nude mud statues to create an "avenue of sculptures"

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
I can tell you all about the secret that is Portugal. Either, the language, cooking, wine, or culture, I know there will be something that will surprise you.
I have dabble in multiple activities and fields, so if there is something about my interests that spark your curiosity, I will love to tell you all I know about it.

Learn:
Anything and Everything. Languages, culture, stories, skills... My curiosity is endless!

Share:
Love to use my engineering skills, creativity and roll up my sleeves to help in what I can.
