About Me

Hey there,

I'm Andy, living and working in Cologne since I moved here about ten years ago from (north north north) Bavaria.

When I'm not doing nerdy stuff at work (or having too many meetings) I like to chill with my cats at home, attend a concert from time to time, go out for a drink (if you can motivate me to step outside), cook and eat tasty stuff and try to take life easy while the world is going nuts.

I am a political and art interested person - if you like pop/op or modern abstract art we will probably have some topics to talk about 🤓

I'm also addicted to coffee and like to travel when my time allows.

NOTE: I do get a lot of requests to host people (and I mean a lot 😅) - so my apologies in advance if I don’t answer all of them. I might not be in town at the requested period of time, have other plans, or simply take a break from Couchsurfing 😉 if you’re in a desperate situation because you’re in cologne already and another host ditched you or something similar you can always send me a message and we might work something out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm new to this but some people I know have told me about the possibilities to meet interesting people from near and far - broadening ones horizon is always a good thing. I like to hear stories and get to know life realities that I might not come across otherwise. So let's give this a try.

Music, Movies, and Books

It's hard to call something a true "favorite". Things change and with them your favorites change. Music offers such a broad range of amazing stuff that I switch between electronic, rock, classic, jazz, Cologne folk, RnB and other stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived the 2015 Nepal eathquake. Puts things in perspective. Also pretty much every trip to other continents I have done so far.

Teach, Learn, Share

Culture, skills, silly jokes, local food specialties.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Dominican Republic, England, Finland, Italy, Mexico, Nepal, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United States
