About Me

CURRENT MISSION

yeah right, this changes daily

ABOUT ME

in 2007 I fulfilled a lifelong dream of moving to Ireland. A lot of Irish people have questioned WHY that was anyone's dream in the first place and I don't really know myself I think there are pretty deep rooted and complex psychological reasons so I just say it was for THE CRAIC. It's true the country is kinda falling apart at the seams but that's what makes it great. In my four years here I've really loved it and don't regret it for a second. I'll stay here as long as it feels right.

It is a really great country though

PHILOSOPHY

Try to live as naturally as possible

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The concept is pretty obviously fantastic

Interests

I dig music I guess more than anything. Which is weird because I'm not a musician, but that's just how it goes. I'm addicted to buying giant 400 page cookbooks and making 3 or 4 recipes from them, I'm awesome at that. I like having Authentic Cultural Experiences when I'm travelling, and find the concept of Europe fascinating, likely as a direct reaction to Canada's lack of culture/consumer culture. have got into some strange foreign sports since I've been over here like soccer, rugby, and hurling. Bollywood.

Music, Movies, and Books

edit: I wrote this a year ago but im not gonna update it

I don't really have top anythings. Is that because I'm constantly evolving or is that because I'm impressionable and lack commitment? Hopefully the former. I get bored easily and consume constantly

Last 5 movies
Born to Fight (a Thai action movie. it sucked) / Mine Vaganti (Italian comedy/drama, was very funny) / Tron Legacy (a gorgeous, massive disappointment) / SuperBad (again. an all time classic)
i don't remember, don't watch many movies

Last 5 records
- 3 disc introduction to new internet genre GraveWave (conclusions: I don't think I dig GraveWave all that much) / Solar Bears (impressive new Irish band) / Ghost (righteous heavy metal) / Todd Terje re-edits (disco overlord) / Bob Dylan Christmas in the Heart (wish Christmas wasn't over, love Christmas music and LOVE this album)

Last 5 books
-James Joyce - Portrait of the Artist (honestly! im surprised at how accessible it is. The rep of Ulysses scared me off it for a while but this book is great) / Hunter S Thompson - Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas / D.H. Lawrence - Sons and Lovers / Nick Hornby - Fever Pitch / Anton Chekhov - Selected Stories

Last TV
Archer (watch this show it'll change your life) / Party Down (why did it ever have to end)
