About Me
*******ON HAITUS!! We will be able to host people when restrictions are lifted. Safe travels everyone *******
Hi! We're Amy and Jay - we have an insatiable lust for adventure and huge love for life :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We love meeting adventurers from all over the world and forming friendships. Always eager to strike up a conversation with anyone and hear different perspectives, different stories, different ways of life. Everyone has a unique outlook and that's fascinating!
Interests
Interests are far and wide for us, so we will keep it short and speedy! :D
Amy;
As a writer, if I am not found elsewhere, I can usually be found with a hefty teacup in hand typing up my world of imagination. I have many personal journals too - so many, we have a box dedicated to them!
Trail-running is a habit I developed in the Mourne Mountains, where I taught rock climbing, bouldering, zip lining and other outdoor activities. Love storm chasing, hiking, motorcycling and extreme sports as an adrenaline junkie!
As a social butterfly, really enjoy a good beer with friends, nice glass of red wine, or more likely than those is some whiskey ;D
But also adore moments of serenity - like being in nature, stopping to smell the flowers, stargazing, practising mindfulness, meeting over tea, meditation and yoga, and reading a good book. Talking about all things soulful gets my heart pumping more than extreme sports do!
Jay;
I'm an extroverted - introvert is the best way to describe it! Love gaming, building PC's (if you're having any trouble with a computer while you're hosting us, I can always have a look!)
I love motorcycling and anything motorcycling - related, so be careful if you strike up that topic of conversation because we'll be there for hours :P I might seem shy once we meet but once you get to know me I never shut up haha! :P
Used to work as a photographer which has taken me to some really cool places, and used to work in a bar for a long time, therefore have lots of cocktail making experience ;)
Love my whiskey, stereotypical I know, but always love trying local food and drinks anywhere I go. I've grown up with dogs and cats all my life and adore any and all animals. I'm a massive history buff so if you have any history about your place/country I would love to hear it! Also really like literature and poetry.
Always fascinated by the wonder that is the human spirit and soul and how genuinely amazing all the people we've met through this platform have been.

Music, Movies, and Books
Jay;
I love anime and am really into my movies and films, espcially Marvel, and also cult classics / anything unique that breaks from the norm.
Really love any books by David Eddings, Raymond E Feist, R. A Salvatore, David Gemmel to name a few. Two of my favourite books would be The Redemption of Althalus and The Road.
I love anything rock that goes with it's own flow! Interpol and Abandoned Pools, Yournalist, Lacuna Coil, the 1975, 21 Pilots, 30 Seconds to Mars, Asking Alexandria, and most importantly NSP! Also big fan of the oldies such as Genesis, Sting and the Police, Huey Lewis and the news, David Bowie etc.
Amy;
We are hugeeeee fans of all things anime-related, so most of my favorite movies and series reflect this.
Music! Love old fashioned rock and metal. Yet in pole-dance, I always listen to chart hits, and love classical music and Tchaikovsky too, so I don't know where I fall on the music spectrum!
As for books, I'll read just about anything! But any book that makes you think deeply will have me hooked. I particularly enjoy philosophy and fantasy, but am also a fan of the personal accounts of people who have toured the world by motorcycle.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We don't know about amazing, but we can give you some of our FAVORITE things from our years!
Amy;
100km cycle challenges, skydiving for charity, being adventure instructor in the heart of the Mourne Mountains, took a train solo across the Netherlands...
Jay;
Worked on a film set, travelled for photography country-wide, currently a Game Master for an amazing Dungeons and Dragons group, went to Finland with the comenius project...
Between us we also bought our own home, have been in a few music videos for local musicians, toured coast of Italy by Vespa, and took on the European continent on a 23-country motorcycle tour!
Teach, Learn, Share
We can TEACH you how to cook our favourite dishes (Jay is a great cook who can make anything and everything for vegans and meat-eaters alike! Amy tries hard but isn't as good, but she can still show you the proper way to make Northern Irish eggy bread haha!) some history of our homeland Northern Ireland, and things about our hobbies and pastimes.
We enjoy LEARNing about other peoples experiences and adventures, and what they have learnt throughout the years!
Would love to SHARE stories, laughs, tales and musings :)
