Resumen
Sobre mí
*I'm out of Canada at the moment and therefore cannot host:( *
I'm a proofreader for the Festival international du cinéma d'animation d'Annecy for a few months and thrilled about it!
I love comfy sweaters, tea, coffee, a glass of wine in the afternoon, my cat, the plants I'm trying to keep alive in my apartment, afternoons on my balcony in the hammock chair, hiking where my boots take me, reading (a lot), dying my hair in funky colors (blue, pink, orange, purple), dancing like a crazy person when no one is watching. I like to party once in a while but I'm more a table-game-and-supper-with-friends-night. I'm far from a pro cook but I really enjoy trying new recipes.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
I love to meet people and exchange: reading on a destination is fine, but you can never get the really useful info about the everyday life. That, you need to get at the source. I find that people are fascinating, we all have a story to tell or enthusiam to share!
(I have couchsurfed once, in Ireland, in 2007, and I had a great experience. I couldn't find my old Couchsurfing account to get the details back, so I'm setting up a new one.)
I will be in France for a few months this spring/summer, so I won't be able to meet surfers in Montreal. I can still answer questions, don't be afraid to ask!
Intereses
Culture (I devour movies, books, I go to spoken word performances and have performed in the past).
Healthier eating, I'm not a vegetarian but am interested in vegetarism (but I am also a sugar addict).
DIY in general (I like to make an object mine with a touch of Mod Podge or paint, decoration in general).
Eco-responsible/less chemical lifestyle (Far from perfect, but I'm making baby steps: I make my tooth powder, face cleanser, laundry soap, use Diva Cup and cloth menstrual pads, etc.)

Música, películas y libros
*MUSIC*
I really like folk an acoustic artists (Ben Howard, Mumford and Sons, etc.)
I LOVE The Civil Wars. In general I'm a fan of Florence and the Machine, Regina Spektor, SHEL, and many, many others.
And Québec/French artists (Les soeurs Boulay, Klô Pelgag, Amylie, Karkwa, Les Cowboys Fringants, Les Colocs, Louis-Jean Cormier, Pierre Lapointe, Jorane, Salomé Leclerc, Ingrid St-Pierre, Coeur de Pirate, Jean Leloup, Alexandre Poulin, Charles Aznavour...)
*CINEMA*
Animation movies can be so moving, funny or plain gorgeous. (Wolf Children, Grave of the Fireflies, Song of the Sea, Spirited Away, Children who listen to lost voices, Perfect blue, Mary and Max, The Croods, Toy Story, Finding Nemo)
Movies can keep you on your toes (The Departed, 12 Monkeys, Lucky number Slevin, The Experiment, Dark City, Requiem for a Dream)
Or feel good, or make you cry (Untold Scandal, Sound of Music, The Broken Circle Breakdown, The Pianist, Little Miss Sunshine, Repo! The Genetic Opera, Dancer in the Dark, Dogville, Hope Springs)
BOOKS
Too many, and most are in French, so I guess most people would not recognize them. You can ask me in person if you're curious.
Algo increíble que he hecho
*Maybe not amazing, but still funny (in retrospect) * :
Homeless for a night in Paris, I fell asleep at a bus stop and was invited by the SAMU Social (really nice 'police' guys) to sleep in a holding cell, because there weren't any beds left in shelters that night.
In Ireland, my passport fell into the toilet and was almost denied access in another country because it was wavy and the ink not so clear. A few weeks later, I forgot it it a changing room with my money pouch, got it all back (faith in humanity restored x 1000).
* In general* :
I'm not an extreme sports person, but I I crawled in the caves system under Budapest, hiked in the Grand Canyon, Mount Eisenhower, Gaspésie, etc., did a via ferrata in Mont Sainte-Anne, I snowshoe, rollerskate (quite badly), attempt yoga poses at the risk of my non-flexible limbs.
I've recently participated in a zombie-themed LARP in a closed school at night. I'm always ready for new adventures, small or big ones!
Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones
This great Quebec songs playlist that I've cooked up: http://8tracks.com/bilboquette/le-meilleur-du-quebec
I can give tips about dying your hair in funky colours.
I like to make food, maybe not fancy one, but yummy.
I can help with French writing and speaking skills, it's actually my job as a tutor! Or I can proofread stuff, like schoolwork and whatnot, in French and English. Mostly French though. I've been helping my friends this way for years ;)
