Overview
About Me
I grew up moving all over the place, the daughter of a career Army soldier. I got the taste for wandering at an early age, and love seeing new places. I love being outside - hiking, camping, biking - and love trying new things. I am a certified yoga teacher, and in my spare time teach friends, family, and workshops at corporate conferences. Traveling to see beautiful things is part of my inspiration - it connects me to why I do what I do. I do have a young dog, who's with me sometimes when I travel. I'll be sure to let you know if that's the case. He is crate trained, loves people and all animals (he's just met some horses and cats on a ranch and loved it).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
While traveling, I want to connect with humanity. Build community. Connecting with people is so much of what I do for my job, and I love meeting new and different people. Because of my childhood and adult life to some extent, I have friends in many places, and want to keep growing that community of thoughtful, kind, openhearted people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - I love music. I love music with words that resonate with life. I often listen to singer-writer stuff, but love finding new gems I never would've expected. I have not been super into movies - as a sensitive person, I'm quite affected by movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I gave up my apartment in San Francisco at the end of April, and have been traveling around the US since then. In that time, I've backpacked, camped, and traveled alone until I met Arrow. He's my new pup, who I adopted in Durango. I'm heading to Arlington for a job for 6 months, and then will see where I end up next.
I also started a women's initiative in my industry (residential building performance) , which has taken on a life of itself. It's been so great to see the support in building out diversity in the industry, and connecting women throughout the country.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love teaching yoga, and am not too bad at meditation either. I'd love to learn Spanish, guitar, and singing. I also love to hear people's stories, and share mine.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am a pretty decent cook, and have lots of stories to share. I can also teach yoga to anyone - ANYONE :). You don't have to be flexible to practice. You just have to breathe.
