About Me

New to Helsinki! Often travelling, willing to meet new people always. Fun seeker, slight hedonist.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to see the world and meet people who live in the country I live in. It seems wherever I go in the world, one of the first people I meet seems to be from Manchester too!

I want to be able to eat local food, see things I wouldn't get to ordinarily see, experience the nightlife...

Interests

I love to play rugby, cycle, long walks, getting lost on said walk, skiing and hikes through the countryside, road trips, partying, eating, drinking, dancing, reading. The usual! Always willing to try out new things, since you never know what you could discover is your true calling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Always a tough question! My favourite movies are probably Goldeneye (the best James Bond film!), since it was my most watched childhood film.

Samsara/Baraka - those films inspire me to travel so much.
Wes ANderson is my favoruite director.

Music wise, I love all the Manchester classics: Stone Roses, New Order, Joy Divison, Elbow. However, my favourite bands are probably Jungle and the Arctic Monkeys. I love techno and drum and bass also, as well as some classic Sheffield bassline. I really enjoy down-tempo, ambient music too, like James Blake, Fourtet, Massive Attack, Portishead and Nicolas Jaar. I love music and wish I could play an instrument so much. I will learn the saxophone one day!

I like books that once you've read them, inspire you to do something great. The Dharma Bums by Kerouac did that to me. However I love a funny novel, I'm currently reading the Infitine Jest by David Foster Wallace and loving it. I'm a A Song of Ice and Fire nerd too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Saw shooting stars whilst camping in the mountains of Myanmar (although they turned out just to be fireworks, haha!)

Cycled right down the West coast of France.

Went swimming in the infinity pool at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

Teach, Learn, Share

Pretty well travelled and done many a great thing (and many a stupid thing) so got a lot of stories to share. Looking for fun conversations and memorable times. Even the worst of times can be turned into a hilarious story with enough time!
