About Me

I am a whimsical, amiable and easy-going traveler who loves good conversations, food and outdoor adventures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I look forward to meeting and connecting with new people. I travel light and I'm constantly seeking unique and genuine connections.

Interests

Making music; anything I can create with my hands -- sculpting, crocheting, hand carving, wind chimes, soap and lotion, photography; hiking and being outdoors; playing soccer, yoga, and rock climbing; gardening and permaculture/aquaculture. I'm working towards becoming a certified Doula and I hope to eventually become a midwife.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
Joni MIthcell's my girl, but I like a variety of music. I love jazz, old-school rap and hip-hop, old-school punk, anything influenced by the Beatles, Zimbabwean music and anything I can shake my booty to. I studied classical music and opera and my favorite periods in that realm are the renaissance, early romantic, impressionistic, and all the far-out modern weirdos.
Books: I'm a fiction junky. Novels are an emotional commitment for me and, as a result, I've yet to finish many for fear of parting with the characters.
Steinbeck writes to my soul. I love One hundred years of solitude, Broom of the system, the Alchemist, The history of love, House of spirits, The Tao of Pooh, anything by Virginia Woolf, Jitterbug perfume, Old man and the sea, Mark Twain's short stories, selections by Tolstoy I've read, The Hobbit/Lord of the rings trilogy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

lI'm not sure this is amazing to some, but I hitch-hiked across the states and back one summer. I met so many lovely, generous people along my travels in places of the country that were completely foreign to me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Unique/progressive/open-minded conversations, slightly above average cooking, I'll happily sing along with any musically inclined folks and I can break out most Disney princess songs on the fly.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
