About Me
Hi! My name is Amy :) I’m a seasonal worker, flow artist, and backpacker. I’m currently on a 6 month backpacking trip of South America and my dream is to move somewhere off the Rocky Mountains when I return to the states. I love dancing with poi and am currently learning hula hoop (both of which I’m happy to share when hosting/hosted ).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because while I love campground and hostel culture, you’ll never meet the locals of an area in those places, and I really want to get to know the people of a place too

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite artist is Florence and the Machine but I love listening to basically any kind of music except country (I’m from Texas & it just got a little played out in my childhood ), and I especially love going out to listen to live music
Current favorite movie is the Greatest Showman but I don’t have an all time favorite, I’m more into TV shows cause I love seeing an ongoing story and character development, and getting personally invested in characters/the storyline. Currently watching Black Sails and Narcos, but some of my old favs are Doctor Who, Supernatural, and Psych
Harry Potter was my first love and will always be my favorite but I also love Neil Gaiman novels, historical fiction, and travel/hiking memoirs.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I camped, hitchhiked, and worked around New Zealand for 9 months on the working-holiday visa. Still convinced New Zealand is the most magical country in the world because of it
Teach, Learn, Share
Happy to teach any of my hobbies such as Poi and Hula Hoop, and share any knowledge and stories I have (e.g. how to do working holiday visas, tips for backpacking S. America, etc). I love learning new hobbies, skills, topics, etc, so anything a guest/host is willing to share with me would be amazing, but the next specific things on my list to learn/self-teach are how to cook proper cuisine, aerial silks, and basic gardening :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can teach poi (a form of fire dance, but with LED lights instead of fire), the little I know of hula hoop, and , if someone wants to practice Spanish conversation, I’m straight out of South America right now and would be happy to practice conversation with my intermediate “gringo” spanish . Of course also happy to help around the house with cleaning and/or cooking
