About Me
Hello, new friends. I am from the beautiful driftless region of SW Wisconsin and now live in sunny Mesa, Arizona. I have a degree in education and teach privately in students' homes. I teach all ages, from kindergarten to seniors in high school. I enjoy drinking coffee and ginger beer, conversation, and being outdoors. I also am very interested in history and music, to an extreme some might say.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Some of my friends had told me about couch surfing through Canada and I was intrigued. I traveled to California solo two summers in a row. During those times I met and stayed with strangers for part or all of the trip. When I went to LA for three weeks I needed places to stay. I started on Couch Surfers with one personal reference. People across the country welcomed me into their homes. After I came home I opened my house to surfers and met so many new friends. Both parties are sort of forced out of introverted states and real connection happens. Although I'm an introvert, after I host someone I feel more connected to the world.
Interests
I took an apprenticeship in herbal medicine for around 5 years. I enjoy sitting in nature and just observing. I really enjoy sharing music with people and can get a bit carried away on the topic. When I travel, I love to see historic places and museums as well. I will always want to check out the local coffee shop. I also love anything hilarious :) I enjoy researching genealogy and even volunteer on the family search website to index documents.
