Overview
About Me
I've just come from Australia where I taught History and Geography and English, . Now I teach Economics at a school in Reading. I run a book club and play hockey and the french horn. Back home I surfed but I'm less keen on that in the freezing Reading Canal. I am also not opposed to day drinking.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think the best way to experience a city is to walk around, eat in cafes, drink in bars, and talk to people who live there. I'm a really social person so couch surfing is perfect for me when I travel by myself in school holidays because all my UK friends don't get 12 weeks of annual leave a year.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music - I like to pretend I'm all alternative and indie but actually my music taste could best be summed up as " songs white girls get excited about in clubs"
Books - Wuthering Heights, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Great Gatsby, A Room with a View. There is a reason they are classics.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent 3 years running a development project in Timor L'este. And also I once fit 22 marshmallows into my mouth.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you're interested in politics, government, economics, philosophy. I have a rudimentary understanding of all of these things and can do a benchmark job discussing them, which I really enjoy doing.
Mostly I love meeting people from different background and cultures and countries and just talking about life in general with new people.
What I Can Share with Hosts
laughter, friendship and a really good fruit punch recipe
