About Me
My name is Amy and I am from London, UK.
I am currently travelling the world with my boyfriend after we both quit our jobs, packed our stuff into storage and flew to Mexico! So far we are having the time of our lives. We've seen Mayan ruins, gone swimming with sharks and turtles and met amazing people along the way. We are reading a lot too which is such a lovely, simple pleasure that all to often was neglected when we were preoccupied with the 9-5!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My friends have been hosting and couch surfing for years and it's something I've always wanted to try. It seems like a brilliant way to meet new people who are also open minded and have a positive approach to life! It's also so great to get inside tips on destinations you're visiting. I've it people up in London who I've met whilst on holiday and it's always great to welcome someone into your home. Hopefully coach surfing is an extension of that.
I've done a lot of hitch hiking in the past so I know it's a great feeling to rely on he kindness of strangers and I'm hoping to have that again through couch surfing.
Interests
When I was back home in the UK I enjoyed going to watch live comedy, gigs (particularly indie bands), pub quizzes with good ale and craft beer on tap and getting sucked into series on Netflix or podcasts. Saturday's were my favourite day of the week because I would try a new brunch recipe out (Turkish eggs were the best one so far) whilst listening to This American Life. I think that's the one home comfort I miss, a full fridge and a stocked spice rack!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love the Pixies, Arcade Fire, Belle and Sebastian, Neutral Milk Hotel, Pulp, Blur, the National and Kendrick Lamar to name only a few!
Favourite films include anything directed by Paul Thomas Anderson or Wes Anderson, In Bruges, True Romance, Speed, Con Air, Dumb and Dumber, Lost in Translation and Jurassic Park.
I love the authors Dave Eggers and Graham Greene. Also read a few Murakami and enjoyed them all.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I hitchhiked from London to Marrakesh with a friend for charity. It was an amazing experience. We met some wonderful people and saw some great places a long the way!
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you'd be willing I could cook a good meal! (At least I like to think I can)
