Hi there,

My name is Amy, and I’m a high school teacher. I was born in the UK, but have led quite a nomadic life with my father being in the army. I currently reside in Sydney and have been there for 11 years.

I studied and graduated at Macquarie University, which is based in Sydney. I teach English Literature and Drama to unruly adolescents and although it has its challenges, I can honestly say it’s my passion to educate and inspire young people.

I have been teaching for a number of years, and have since felt the need to travel and explore the world. My travels have taken me to some beautiful places, but I am now looking to experience a more authentic way of seeing the world. And, it is this desire that has brought me to Couchsurfing.

To meet new and exciting people, who can offer a unique travelling experience. I want to immerse myself in different cultures and expand my own understanding of the world. I think all of these things will help me to become a better person, and educator.

I have done the whole hostel thing, and although it’s been great, as a solo traveller it can be quite an isolating experience. I’m not an incredibly extroverted person and much prefer to meet people in a more personal and intimate way/environment.
