About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Find what I love in life enough to devote a significant amount of time to (ie: figure out what I want to do when I "grow up") and have a couple of exciting adventures as I attempt to figure it out.

ABOUT ME

I'm a Kentucky native but moved to Colorado Springs for a couple of years where I taught high school. When I figured out that teaching wasn't for me, I spent some time traveling Colorado and working/learning on a winery, and now am trying to figure out the next path professionally. I love to have fun, meet new people, and learn new things (preferably all 3 at the same time). I enjoy having a good drink with excellent company. I love hiking and exploring the world, nearby and far. I also have the muttiest of mutt rescue dogs that tends to travel with me.

PHILOSOPHY

You're never too old to learn and grow. I like to surround myself with people who do the same, and be challenged and learn from them. I try (and usually succeed) in finding the humor in everything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I found out about Couchsurfing in college and tried to be more involved. Looking to become more involved now that I have more time for traveling and a soon to be place of my own.

Interests

Running, hiking, exploring, yoga, (though I don't push myself to do it enough), wine, bourbon (I did grow up in Kentucky), good food. [sorry, this sounds like a typical insert generic couch-surfing interests here. Most good people do tend to love these things!]

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled around the world with the program Semester at Sea four years ago and it completely changed my life. Between living on the ocean, sleeping on the Great Wall of China and drinking champagne on an African Safari, I don't think anything can beat those few months. I also taught with the program Teach for America for two years in Colorado Springs.

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil, Cayman Islands, China, Ghana, India, Jamaica, Mauritius, Mexico, South Africa, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
