About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My current mission, should I choose to accept it, which I did because I already bought the ticket, is to travel in and around Turkey for a month. Also to eat in Turkey. Also stuff my noggin with flavors and spices and just how they make that pastry...
ABOUT ME
All about me. well.
I have plenty of good things- I am curious, intellegent, engaging, interested, fairly strong backbone, fond of a good joke, a not-so-good joke, an animated conversation, a quiet moment, hearing songs I've never heard before, seeing things I've never seen before...I have curly hair and once thought I would grow up to be an elf.
I have some not-always-beneficial things too- I can be a bit reserved at first, I can be somewhat wary, again initially, I tend to bow out of shallower conversation rather than go through the motions, I very much dislike bananas...these things can sometimes get in the way.
PHILOSOPHY
I live my life because I get to, and I consider that far better than the alternative.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
How I participate. In life? I get up every day.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I do not have any CouchSurfing experiences as of yet, in the official CouchSurfing realm, however I have slept on many couches, including my own when I have friends or family visiting. I know that is not the half of the CouchSurfing experience. I'm being fecetious. Maybe I'm nervous as it's my first time and all.
Interests
There are a lot of things that I am interested in-books, music, sunlight, but I think if I were to honestly answer what I am interested in, as in what keeps me going and, well, interested, I would say it is when connections are made. When people are brought together, step out of the stories of their own lives and share- over a dinner table, a train ride, a field trip- something of themselves with others. I am constantly amazed by how vibrant and kick-ass people around me can be. Most everyone, after you get past the surface, is a universe of thorny, interesting, beautiful messy personhood and connection with that "under the surface" stuff is what I live for. A beautiful mess is right.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once jumped out of a plane in a bear costume reciting The Canterbury Tales in Old English. No, I didn't do that. I would be amazed if I saw that, though, falling from the sky. Honestly, I get awestruck fairly often by what I see around me- watching the way kids play together or how pelicans fly along the crests of waves. Life is pretty amazing.
