About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet people who will be fun, inspire me, expand my world view.

ABOUT ME

Kind, thoughtful, fun, well-informed, hospitable. A writer and a reader. A traveler and adventurer.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life open to change, and that change is often a new country. I've lived in Sweden for 18 years, in Malta for four years, and now returned to the US but living in an entirely new city for me, Washington DC (although 45 mins outside the city itself in a small beach town).

I believe in accepting others, not judging, knowing that there is something to be learned from everyone.

I'm always looking for new experiences, the next adventure, a challenging writing assignment.

Family and friends are very important to me; life's sustenance and seasoning.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Not yet hosted but willing to do so.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a great experience with Adi in Jerusalem together with my daughter Marielle. Adi was a warm and generous hostess who made the first time experience feel so natural that I felt like I was visiting a friend--which she quickly became! I am now so supportive of this approach to travelling, since I got an insider's view of Jerusalem through Adi I would never have had otherwise, including a spontaneous falafel dinner with her and her young friends, and hearing their stories.

Interests

Everything cultural--museums, especially art museums, music of all kinds, special events and fairs, and particularly books and writing. Walking along the boardwalk and beach in the small town outside Washington DC where I live. Travel, of course.

Music, Movies, and Books

Classic literature, like Tess of the Durbervilles, Ethan Frome, are favorites, but I'm open to any new, fresh, well-written novel that takes me on a journey.

I like listening to and discovering new world music.

I fall for romantic comedies or dramas, love the old classic black-and-white films, and films that make me think and feel deeply.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sunrise over Angkor Wat in Cambodia.

Discovering the most beautiful beach in Costa Rica after a harrowing ride on a heavily rutted road.

Walking around Beijing's Forbidden City.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could share my knowledge of :
Journalism.
Corporate social and environmental responsibility communications.
What it takes to write, complete and gain an agent for a novel.
