À propos de moi

It been years since I logged in - probably 5 - and I think my profile was reset. My hubby and I have three adorable little kids and a puppy. We have been blessed with a spacious home to accomodate several couchsurfers if needed. I'll have to get some pictures up soon! Justin and I both work with students with disabilities - me the college-age population and Justin with the middle school and high school age populations.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I live to travel - or at least I did before having a family :) I hope when the kids get older we can do missions nationally and internationally. I love meeting people and learning about social situations that make people who they are!

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I listen to a lot of 80's music. Modern music I enjoy includes folky stuff like Jack Johnson and Christina Perri. I also enjoy Linkin Park and Country music.

A resolution for 2015 has been to read one book a month. My favorite books are The Holy Bible and Don Quixote. Books I've read this year include Made to Crave (and lost 30 pounds while reading), The Male Brain (self-explanatory), The Best Yes (about motivation and organization), and Three Little Words (a true story about a foster child's experiences). I am currently reading a book about research in social psychology (The Psychology of Influence and Persuasion) and reading the book Made to Crave again as the motivation for healthy eating habits is wavering! I think I read another short one but I forget.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I completed a marathon in 2011 when my second daughter was 3 months old. I weighed at least 190 pounds at the time. It took me 7.5 hours. That Chicago Marathon was AMAZING! That actually didn't compare to the time I did my one and only 10K - pushing two girls in a double stroller. Halfway through the race, security personnel drove up to me on a golf cart and asked me if I was running the race. Aparently I was the last person (by far) and they were checking on me to make sure I was okay! They followed me the rest of the way back. That was interesting. The timer was gone by the time I finished, but hey - I finished it!

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I have been told several times I have the gift of teaching. I love to help people anyway I can in achieving their personal goals. God has brought me through so much in life, I have accomplished more than I ever thought possible in my professional and personal life. Its what I do as a job and what I do any other time I get a chance - share with people how they can achieve their dreams too!

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

Justin, the kids, and I like hiking and outdoors, as well as church and worship, and a good bottle of wine and local music, so we'd be happy to take you to some local trails or folk music! We keep a tight schedule with early quiet hours for reasons of keeping kids in bed and getting to work. We're available to visit mostly from 5-7 pm (and you're welcome to use our kitchen too!)

Pays que j'ai visités
