About Me

Artist, traveller, lover, adventurer, collector, feminist, taker of photographs, do-er of things, eater of food. I enjoy a nice balance of hard work and hedonism.

My day-to-day life consists of:

Enjoying adulthood - it's great, right? Every year tops the last.

Making jewellery and selling it.

Thinking about my currently almost non-existent art practice. Representation, abstraction, illusion and system-making are themes I'm always returning to. My work sits somewhere between sculpture and painting and seems to get more conceptual each year. These last few months saw me busy working on an art project that a bunch of us took all the way from NZ to Burning Man, but I once more crave my own studio space.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In 2012 I spent four and a half months overseas and CS was absolutely amazing! My cousin Jess and I couch surfed in San Francisco, LA, Long Beach, New York, Brighton and London. Our surfing experiences were awesome and we have met beautiful and generous people who we will be friends with for life. I'm so glad we chose to travel in this manner. I have also done a small amount of couchsurfing in Colombia in 2014 which was great.

Here in NZ I have met and hosted some other great CSers. One of our couchsurfers ended up living with us for most of a year!
