About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Expand my desert horizons.

ABOUT ME

I'm a disability support worker studying community development, heading to Alice Springs to suss out if I'd like to move there. I've most recently been living in coastal central Queensland but have been moving regularly over the past few years, since leaving Castlemaine in Victoria.

I'm an aspiring writer, and have a background in journalism and media. I'm well travelled. I'm passionate about environmental issues, and have just been part of the Bob Brown Stop Adani Convoy. I'm keen to get involved in the anti-fracking movement.

PHILOSOPHY

Flow.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently looking for couches... well, I've got a van so all I need is access to a bathroom! If you've got a patch of dirt I can park on that would be amazing. :)

Let me cook you something, give you a bad haircut, tend your houseplants, edit your writing. I give great moral support/gentle creative feedback, so test out your new standup material on me, show me your screenplay, let me be guinea pig for that new cake recipe... I'm very interested in permaculture and environmental projects, and have a background in film and TV, so happy to get my hands dirty in the garden, or help on set, or a combination of the two!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed throughout the US.

Interests

Silly jokes, bad lounge room dancing, heated debates, bagels, talking to strangers, late night conversations which descend into nonsense, bright morning walks, fermenting, reading, doing daggy craft, urban agriculture, disobedient dogs, permaculture, starting things, contradictions, bonfires, singing along to the radio in the car on an open road with the window down...

Music, Movies, and Books

I hate lists. Suggestions of new music, books, TV shows, podcasts and bad Youtube videos are always welcome.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The lights of cormorant fisherman on the Hozu River in Japan.
The call to prayer at the mosque in Shah Alam, Malaysia.
Kayaking on Halong Bay in the mist.
Running down Orange Bowl sand dune in Yeppoon, Australia.
Touching a glacier in South Island, New Zealand.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can edit your crative writing; teach you how to make a mean guacamole; give you a very novice level reiki.
Can you teach me circus tricks? Ukulele? Show me where the best thrift stores are? Show me a card game I'll actually remember?

Countries I’ve Visited

Costa Rica, France, Guatemala, Ireland, Laos, Nepal, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Singapore, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea
