Settling in to Charlottesville

ABOUT ME

Cary and Amy live in the Blue Ridge Mountain of Virginia. We love climbing, hiking, biking and cultural activities. We work for a ski resort, live in a cozy cottage with a wood stove and plan to head out West soon on a climbing road trip. We are close to Shenandoah National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the lovely town of Charlottesville and Wintergreen Ski Resort.

PHILOSOPHY

We are interested in living simply and in always making time for what is truly important: relationships and activities we love rather than things and jobs we don't love.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Amy stayed with a couch surfer host once in 2009 in Asheville, NC, USA. We also stayed in San Jose, CA in 2010, and in Sion, Switzerland in 2011. We have hosted several people in our Charlottesville, VA home.

Music, Movies, and Books

This is always contentious when there is more than one person involved. Suffice to say, we compromise as much as possible and have a wide range of tastes. No horror movies as they give both of us nightmares.

Teach, Learn, Share

Climbing-trad or sport, all in the rock-climbing mecca of Yosemite National Park. Cary has a big rack.

Some Spanish or English-Amy is a Spanish teacher.

Travel information and insiders tips for Yosemite and the surrounding areas. Because some trails are just too crowded or too hot at 12 noon in the middle of August. Also, information for the Charlottesville area.
