About Me

** I only respond to messages that contain some kind of acknowledgement that you have actually read my profile and would sincerely like to meet me. You'll see what I mean, keep on reading **

- Currently living in Philadelphia, NOT KOREA (check before you send a request).
- I have backpacked for one year (2015) in Latin America through 17 countries.
- I really love animals, especially dogs. I have an incurable dog addiction (I may not notice you, but for sure I will notice your dog).
- Exploring is in my nature and I love looking for new ways to have fun. Even if it's just within the neighborhood, I prefer to choose a different path on the way back, just to see new things. I need new stimulation and change of surroundings from time to time, or else I may be as good as dead.

- PHILOSOPHY : "Here and Now". Karma. Dogs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In my definition, CS is not about being a tour guide, nor is it simply a means for one to get free accommodation. I would like to make new friends, exchange silly stories and strike up random conversations. From my experience, the most interesting and inspiring people tend to be Couchsurfers.

Since 2011, I have surfed many countries, mostly in Asia and Latin America. Most of my greatest life lessons came from CSing.

Im still new in Philly so I would be a terrible guide about the city. But I am more than happy to hang out with you (enjoy some good food, maybe some coffee/beer, a stroll in the park, walk my dog, etc.).

Interests

Traveling, playing with animals, music (depends on my mood, almost anything), all kinds of festivals, scuba diving (PADI Certified Dive Master), learning spanish, feeding stray dogs, taking photos of random dogs i meet, the beach, savoring a good cup of coffee, enjoying the good weather, curling up with a good book, watching movies, searching for cheap flights

Music, Movies, and Books

- Music: REALLY depends on my mood. Open to almost anything.
- Movies: Up in the Air, Black Swan, Beginners, Inception, Good Will Hunting, The Social Network, 500 days of Summer, etc.
- Books: Most of the books by Jodi Picoult, Calvin and Hobbes, Harry Potter series, books related with travel, psychology, mysteries and thrillers
- TV shows: Schitt's Creek, Breaking Bad, Black Mirror, Arrested Development, Parks and Rec, Netflix comedy specials, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Galápagos islands in Ecuador. Best scubadiving and snorkeling ever. Swam with sea lions, marine iguanas, penguins, turtles, sharks, you name it.

Trekking/camping through Torres del Paine National Park in Chile. Glaciers, lakes, lush mountains, rivers, and rocky boulders all in one park. Lost a toenail in the process. Worth it.

I've landed on top of a whale shark before accidentally, in the Philippines. Totally freaked out!!

I volunteered at the Elephant Nature Park in Chiangmai, Thailand for a week. It's a wonderful and truly inspiring place- a sanctuary for abused elephants in Thailand. Try shoveling elephant poo or throwing buckets of water to bathe the beautiful creatures yourself, it's amazing! :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I like the sensation of destroying your own preexisting misconceptions and biases of an unfamiliar country, ethnicity, gender, etc. Best part about travelling and meeting new people.

I love the feeling that you get when you discover a new subject or field that you were not aware of (or was ignorant of) and it turns out that you find it interesting.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My dog’s name is Charlie! If you mention his name in your message, I will respond to you.

** I'm just trying to filter out all the rude people who are practically demanding for a place to stay or sending me very inappropriate or copy and paste messages.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Czech Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, France, Germany, Greece, Guam, Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay, Viet Nam
