ABOUT ME

We went to university in Scotland together, which is when we started this profile!  While we are no longer in the same place, we both still love seeing more of the world so we can learn more about new people, cultures and ways of life. We loove baking, drinking tea, and having fun! We're both cheerful, clean, laidback, and ready to try new things!

PHILOSOPHY

We love life, learning new things, meeting new people (especially locals!), and we try our best to go about life with love as our focus. We enjoy being at a university with people of many different cultures and beliefs. We really enjoy learning about about other people's viewpoints on life and love, because that's how we learn!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Although we are in different parts of the world now, both of us have had wonderful CS experiences, primarily in Europe.  Lissa is just beginning Americorps in Seattle, so perhaps she could meet some of you once she gets settled!  Amy is living in Chicago and traveling to Austin in January, so if you're an Austinite, she'd love to meet up while she's there!  She hopes to have her own apartment soon where she can host, but in the meantime, she'd be happy to do coffee/a drink with passers-by!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed in Girona, Spain; Mdina, Malta; Madrid, Spain; Strasbourg, France.  Had some really lovely and even lifechanging moments. Can't speak highly enough about CSers!!

Intereses

going out dancing, skiing, yoga, working out, singing, reading, playing cards in pubs, music, watching movies, traveling, baking, playing sports (tennis, cricket, softball, American football, swimming, dancing, anything else really), being green!

Música, películas y libros

Books: wow, alll sorts of stuff. Currently loving French literature, Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver and The Alchemist, but we spend most of our time reading stuff for university.
Movies: Don't know where to start, but we watched The Muppets Christmas Carol in order to fulfill our need for a Christmas film.. Hoping to watch foreign films soon to prep for our travels. Oh, and we love any musicals!!
Music: We have such an eclectic collection. We like just about anything from country to rock to R&B or classical.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

Katie can tell you about her gap year in Switzerland with her amazing French skills! (Which will come in very handy as Amy is poring through basic phrasebooks and is rather clueless..She's trying though!) And we both like to bake! Amy loves learning languages (thus the phrasebooks) and has an intermediate/conversational level of Spanish.
