ABOUT ME

I come from a large, loving family from Greensboro,NC. I have moved away and come back several times - Tennessee, Australia, etc, but something always brings me back here. I love my hometown. It's peaceful, beautiful and full of people that I love. I have been teaching for over 15 years. It's one of those jobs that I thought I would do for a few years as I tried to break into video producing. After three years as a producer, I realized that the parts of my job that I loved was very close to teaching. I dove back into teaching with a technology twist headfirst. I can't imagine being anywhere else.

Personally, I play hard. I am active by nature. When it's beautiful outside, I am probably hiking in the woods, kayaking on the lake and trying my hand at yard work. (I bought my first house three years ago and I am now trying to landscape it. My poor neighbors! I covered my grass with black plastic for four months trying to kill it.)

PHILOSOPHY

Life is about experience. I try to experience as many new things as possible.

Being awarded a year-long scholarship to study and travel in Australia is the one of the most amazing things I have done in my lifetime. I got on the plane not knowing anyone and returned to the US a changed person.
