About Me

Hello!
My name is Amanda, I'm 21 years old. I was born in Brazil, in a city called Curitiba. I'm studying Psychology and currently I'm experiencing an exchange program (until August 2017) in Covilhã - Portugal. I hope that this time away from home helps me to get to know myself a little better, as well as get better in dealing with my emotions. Besides that I always felt the need to know the world, to "live", to travel, to know other cultures, and this is the perfect oportunity.
What else can I say about me? I love my family, my boyfriend and my friends and I'm missing them a lot. I love to make new friends and if I like you, you can be certain that I will ask a lot of questions about you hehe.
I really love Psychoanalysis and Psychology, my dream is to work as a clinical Psychologist. I'm thinking about getting my master degree in France, so I can study Lacanian Psychoanalysis.
I'm crazy about cats (I even have a tatto with a cat and a bird :), and since I was a kid I always had at least a cat as a pet), I really like to appreciate the nature, and I'm vegetarian since I was 13 years old.
I'm addicted to series and I like practicing sports, in special Muay Thai. I love music and I really want to learn to play the drums.
When I go out I prefer going to live concerts or a pub with friends, or watch a movie and cook good food then going in a club to dance. I like to cook, mainly desserts because I'm crazy about chocolate!!
Oh, and I wish I could accept guests, but I live in the university residence and I'm not allowed to. But if you want to visit Covilhã I'll be glad to show you the city.
Hope we can get to know each other and be friends! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In my first week in this new city (Covilhã) I had no friends here and I was feeling really lonely and sad... so I talked to my brazilian friend who lived for a year in Hungria and she told me about Couchsurfing. She told me I could meet new people here and be hosted by them when I was traveling. I immediately joined Couchsurfing. I think that is reeeally different to know a new city by yourself then to know with someone who actually lives there! It's a hole new expirience and I would be very glad if I had that chance.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite bands are: Bon Jovi, Helloween and Iron Maiden. But I also really like Scorpions, Whitesnake, Metallica, Crashdiet, Cinderella, Europe, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Gotthard, Journey, Judas Priest, Nazareth and Stratovarius.

I like movies, but I don't like so much to watch them by myself and I always forget their titles. Some of them that caused an impression on me were: The Holiday, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Interstellar, Lucy and American History X.
But I can list better the series that I watch/have already finished: Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, 13 Reasons Why, Prison Break, Designated Survivor, Pretty Little Liars, Blindspot, Big Little Lies, Devious Maids, Family Guy, Grace and Frankie, How to get Away with Murder, Orange is the New Black, In Treatment, Lucifer, Orphan Black, Sense 8, South Park, Stranger Things, Taboo, The Big Bang Theory, This is Us, Being Erica, Believe, Chasing Life, Drop Dead Diva, Fringe, Gossip Girl, Greek, Skins, The Carrie Diaries, The Killing, The Lying Game, The OC, The Returned, The Vampire Diaries, Under The Dome and Witches of East End.

When I was a child I red a lot! It was my favorite hobby! The first book I red was called (in Portuguese): "Tipo Assim, Clarice Bean", and after that I started (and finished) Harry Potter, that I really like until today. In my adolescence I loved Meg Cabot's book and I red almost all that were translated to Portuguese. Now I really like Marian Keyes' books. Besides that I love detective novels and the ones related do Psychology.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Four years ago I climbed a mountain named Anhangava and it was really scary for me, but I loved the experience.
