About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get better at life.

ABOUT ME

I move a great deal, posibly to make up for my father, since he has never moved in his entire life. Yes. His entire life. My parents have a dairy farm, which I promptly left when I was seventeen since I was incredibly unsatisfied seeing only the edge of our farm. I've lived in Victoria, Zurich, Glastonbury, London (Eng.) Calgary, Montreal, and Vancouver, Toronto, and Tulum.
I am a designer, who designs two very different things. The first is books (I freelance for HarperCollins). The second is toys (I freelance for Spinmaster, where I sculpt and create kids toys. It's so much fun!). I'm also an artist and painter in my spare time and am working on building up a proper portfolio of work to show to galleries. Ideally, I would be able to keep designing while pursuing a career as an artist. I love cooking, baking (gluten free! I'm intolerant of gluten. Gluten can just be so rude sometimes).
I work on vintage bicycles and usually build my own bikes. Since we're in France, I'm riding one of Vincent's brother's bicycles, which they tell me was in the Tour De France in the '70's. I'm pretty into cycling, but not into wearing spandex.
I ski in the winter, when my budget can afford it, and play frisbee in the summer. I surf, badly.
I also sing in a chamber choir. I sing... a lot.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well, we used to have a "house" account at an old house of mine. We had a few good experiences and one really, REALLY bad one. It took me three solid years of getting over that one before I decided to join myself.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

WOW. Let's not even start here! SO MUCH.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love funny people, adventurous people, people who know something I don't and are willing to share. I have a particular place in my heart for others who do crossword puzzles habitually. I don't like racists (that's pretty well the only line I draw. Please, don't cross the racist line).
