About Me

CURRENT MISSION

In July my partner and I are moving to Bali! A big adventure for the both of us, so my focus is on getting settled and immersing myself in the life of the island!

ABOUT ME

My name is Amy, I'm a 24 years old and live with my partner Audrey. In July we are moving to Bali and Audrey will be working as a P E Teacher. After finishing school I took a year out to go travelling around Europe, Russia and America and had my first couch surfing experiences. I definately plan on doing more travelling and surfing in the future and am hoping to be able to host a bit in Bali, as well as connecting with the Couchsurfing community.

PHILOSOPHY

Be happy everyday because nothing else is as important!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Once we are settled (and have a couch!) I'm hoping to be able to host. Also keen to connect withy local couchsurfing groups and meet new people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Several wonderful experiences in the states. We stayed with people in Texas, Florida, Alabama and Washington DC. I was genuinely shocked by the kindness and generosity of stragners and would say I'm hooked for life.

Interests

meeting people, reading, politics, sausages, history, walking, going to gigs, travelling, cooking and baking, yoga, going out.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have quite an eclectic taste in music which is generally described by my friends as pretty bad but I mainly enjoy indie, chart, eighties, pop punk etc. I have a not so secret love of bad action films, particularly those starring Jason Statham, that well known acting legend. I also tend to watch a lot of thrillers and generally quite like guns and explosions. I love wathcing documentaries and am a proud buffy fun. Oh, I do also love Disney films. I don't get to read as much as I'd like because it's what I do all the time during uni but my favourite book is probably the great gatsby although my favourite author is Kate Atkinson. Also you can't beat the book of Bridget Jones for pure hilarity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I met a man in Spain who had been hiking for over 70 days from Amsterdam to Santiago di Compostela. He was a truly inspirational guy, but so down to earth and lovely to be around. I wouldn't say it's an amazing thing i've seen, more an amazing guy I met.

Teach, Learn, Share

Possibly the best thing we took travelling was a plastic tupperware box, bowls and knives and forks = instant (cheap) meals.

Also most libraries in the states will give you free internet access - much better than internet cafes!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Netherlands, Oman, Poland, Russian Federation, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, United States
