About Me
I'm a fun-loving person who taught in China this year and I have just moved to Vietnam. I am passionate about traveling as a I think life is all about experience and am willing to take opportunities and risks because I rate life is about quality not quantity. Always up for something different and I am described as always seeing the best in people and getting on with everyone.
Philosophy and favourite quotes
"Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today" (James Dean)
"I can never read all the books I want; I can never be all the people I want and live all the lives I want. I can never train myself in all the skills I want. And why do I want? I want to live and feel all the shades, tones and variations of mental and physical experience possible in life." (Sylvia Plath)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to learn everything I can about other nationalities, cultures and of course their places of origin. I can do this by travelling and accommodating which is why this whole couch-surfing thing sounds a dream. A lot of people fear my beautiful home city because of the crime rate but if you have a Joburger to show you around to the right places you needn't worry and you will have a simply magical experience. I want to kill the steriotype and show people how amazing Johannesburg is. Best thing that we are reknown for is, if I do say so myself, the people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Hugely into my music. I will visit a town JUST for a gig. Favorite genres: rock, metal, electro-metal, drum and base, dub-step, (some) electro, classical but I love a bit of everything really. Favourite bands include Chevelle, I See Stars, Asking Alexandra, Muse, Korn, Biffy Clyro and Bon Iver.
Movies: Every movie Guy Ritchie, Chris Nolan, Quentin tarantino and Baz Luhrmann have ever made, all the Jane Austens, just love period dramas in general, thrillers, gothic horrors, BBC specials are always grand and movies about poets/muscians (always a winner).
Favourite Books: everything Joanne Harris has every written, the Red tent, A mad girls love song, Dracula and sequel, The value of nothing, Shock doctrine rise of disaster capitalism, Psycho, Stuffed and starved, Great Gatsby, A Brave New World, 1984.
Favourite poets: Plath and Keats

What I Can Share with Hosts
(If I am living in Johannesburg)
Safe tours and experiences of the city
Maybe a little weekend away to see the Big Five (2.5 hours from where I live) or perhaps a little drive to "Mountain Sanctuary"(just google it and fall in love) and enjoy some short hikes and rock pools.
Take you out on nights in the town (if you're into that sort of thing)
I could try to cook for you but it would probably end in tears...unless you're down for some good old ready made sauce or boxed muffin mix.
