About Me

Hi!

My name's Amy, and I'm a 23 year old lady with a fondness for guinea pigs and forests.

I'm currently working full-time talking to tricky people about public transport in Auckland, as well as studying a Bachelor's in Applied Theology and dreaming about the future.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined because I was tramping a 10-day slice of the Te Araroa trail, and I needed a place to stay before I caught my flight home, but I also have a view to a travelling future, and figured I'd better get my profile up ASAP, so I seem less like a cyber-rookie.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm really fickle with music, but my song of the week is Two Weeks by Grizzly Bear? I like to hum along to lyrics I don't know. My favourite movie is Gone with the Wind, yes, sir. My favourite book might be any Nancy Drew mystery novel from the 80s, or the ones written in the 20s are pretty fly, too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ooh! I nibbled a sandwich in the cockpit of an inflight airplane before terrorism made the world go crazy. Can a sandwich experience be amazing? Maybe I can do better: last year I lost my footing while tramping and took a tumble down the side of a mountain, but after 3 metres I was lovingly caught by a thorn bush. Ouch : )

Teach, Learn, Share

I play the violin awfully (and have done for 15 years), but I can write a mean essay, and have long conversations with horses (and help you talk the talk, too!).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I cook experimentally and if you can handle a 10% risk that it'll be unpalatable, I would love to shout you some dinner! I can also knit and give a little insight into the female mind (I have four sisters), I'm also pretty cleaning-savvy, and I give amazing pedicures!
