About Me

ABOUT ME

I am the mother of a beautiful 6 year old girl. I love travelling - and though we are bit tied down because my daughter is in school, I hope to explore more in the near future! For now we are enjoying our beautiful home in Vancouver. I've been on a few small vacations in the past years: NYC, Maui, Galiano Island. Most recently I visited Turkey, Berlin and The Netherlands. As for backpacking, I spent 9 months travelling solo through South America about 7 years ago and I would easily describe those months as the best time of my life to date.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Ultimately, because travel is the one thing that can always make my heart smile. And if I can't be venturing out, on my own, then at the very least I can live vicariously through those that we may have the pleasure of hosting!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I occasionally couchsurfed when travelling through South America. I found it a brilliant way to meet locals and immerse myself in the culture! In Quito I attended some couchsurfing events and had an absolute blast! I've also met up with a handful of travellers here in Vancouver and loved sharing stories, and exploring my own city with them. Over the past year though, my biggest contribution to the couchsurfing community has been hosting: everyone we have welcomed into our home has been amazing! This community attracts beautiful human beings and it's a blessing to have the opportunity to be part of it!

Interests

Free time??? Not sure that "free time" exists in the life of a mom... :)

I spend those rare, blissful moments taking yoga classes, hiking, going for walks or coffee, or a walk with a coffee (and a friend or two) and reading. Above all though.... I love a night out dancing! Take me to a festival and I will dance for days on end. I once danced barefoot on the beach for 8 hours straight in the middle of a drum circle and was brought to a state of euphoria unlike anything I've ever experienced.

We are an organic, vegetarian family that loves to cook, and entertain guests. Our ideal night would be spent in with some old and new friends: cocktails (I make a wicked Sangria), delicious food, good conversation, and lots of laughter.
