About Me
**Please note: I get many couch requests and so can not reply to each one personally. I like to know people who I host, so won't reply if you have a blank profile or don't let me know why you want to stay with us***
ABOUT ME
I'm a teacher of English Literature and History, so naturally get enthusiastic when talking about books/arts/politics etc etc.
I'm a pretty laid back, easy going, yet also excitable person. I like to spend my down time doing low key activities like going for walks/hikes in and around Melbourne, riding my bike, cooking for family and friends, reading, getting coffee, going to galleries and arty-type events. If you're into that kind of a thing, than I think we could have a nice time.
PHILOSOPHY
Everyone has an interesting story to tell.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The best way to travel is to meet people who live and love the places you're visiting. I couchsurf in order to get a more intimate understanding of what a place is like. I am always enlightened by the people I meet and the stories they have to tell.
Interests
Cups of tea with honey, sleep, late night chats, art galleries, swimming, museums, slam poetry, festivals, sewing, op-shopping, meeting new people, getting stuck into a good book, music-indie-folk-rock, sunrises, comedy, picnics, theatre, the beach, good wine and great food.
If you've got this far and want to request, please let me know what book you're currently reading.

Music, Movies, and Books
Currently
Books: Just read a dense historiographical insight into the Salem Witch Trials of 1692 that was some enlightening background reading to Arthur Miller's play 'The Crucible' that I'm teaching this year... Also, musing around Alain de Botton and Helen Garner.
Movies: I quite like documentaries, so if you have any recommendations, cast them my way.
Music: Folky, poppy, easy-listening tunes like The Middle East and Feist.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Visiting the Bennesse Foundation Naoshima Art Island in the Seto Inland Sea. One of a series of art islands where Tadao Ando designed buildings house fantastic art. Absolute bliss.
