About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live, love, laugh, dance, sing, repeat!

ABOUT ME

I am a self proclaimed professional tree hugger and adventure junky! I need the woods and untainted lands like most crave sugar. It’s deep ingrained in my brain to try to preserve what we have. I love to explore and try new things/activities. I want to explore more. I have been known to rant about the way things should be and how we can make it better. If you’re not helping, I’m sorry but you’re in the way, wake up and smell that bacon, it’s you in the frying pan. I can seem a little opinionated but it’s all good, I’m mostly harmless. I’m intuitive and trust my gut, but I value logic and reason.

Balanced, spontaneous, genuinely passionate person. I try to teach through actions and guide through experience, listen and learn from others, and aim to love and respect all.

I love to dance, tend to lead, I love to laugh and smile, crack a lot of quirky jokes, well that’s what I’m told, not really sure. I love to write stories, poems and random ideas. I dabble plenty, some are curious and suggest I specialize and refine in this or that, I say no way, well maybe someday, but for now, I’m dipping into this AND that and enjoying the trial. I like to hear ideas and love seeing actions and/or kind gestures! I absolutely love walking/ running through the woods/ trails barefoot, in the rain is a sweet bonus. I’m slightly competitive, enjoy a good challenge. I love coffee prefer my coffee black with a little ice. A daily dose of Dark chocolate can cure anything!!! Beer is great, found it gets better the darker it is…Love cheese as long as it’s not stinky; I choose my wine by the design, no whisky that starts with a J…! I have recently found a liking for spicy; I am up to a 2-3 on a scale of 5 being super spicy. That’s impressive considering last year pepper was hot.

I am an artist, I love to design, invent, and create. I have way too many projects going on but I love them all.

I want to fly an airplane someday.

PHILOSOPHY

“It is our actions that show who we really are, not our capabilities.”

Someone once told me to “Live like you mean it” I like that philosophy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Willing to introduce you to Eau Claire, meet new friends, buy you a cup of coffee/tea, find or dine at a sweet restaurant, help connect with others, show you a trail or two.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I’m a rookie here. (haven’t officially surfed through CS..yet) I recently traveled to Alaska with a dear friend and we made our beds along the way where we deemed fit in the woods, on the farm side, or at a wayside. I’d have to admit my favorite way to spend the night is falling asleep under the stars next to a cozy fire.

Interests

This list may be too long, but like I said I LOVE to try new things especially when it comes to pumping natural adrenaline. Here it goes in a very random poetic order: running in the woods, in the rain, with a cane, I don’t care where, just let me run out there. Bare feet through the woods, flesh on land or dancing with the band. Dance, dance, sing, sing toss me my harness, climb in Red Wing. Tennis, golf, and soccer balls ok yeah please no malls. Paddling, dabbling here and there living life with love and care. Biking hiking and trecken-I recken. Climbing, slack lining, secret fine dining. Painting and training adventure races loving Gods good graces. Composing, designing, and redefining. Coffee, tea I drink plenty. Wine and dark beers lots of cheers. Cheers too good days, cheers to bad ones too, cheers to enough of all this stuff.

Simplicity, balance, genuine people, love, art, authentic smiles, inventing, creativity.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I really enjoy the XM Radio! Dance/ upbeat, funky let’s go! kind of tunes that make you want to dance on your coffee table. Unusual advent guard, folky, political, blue grassin, country, boot stompin, Honky Tonkin, down home beat boxin, country rap? Ok, sure I dig it all, even a little opera with a shot of shiraz. I love a good baseline and a dusting of the strings sends me.

Movies: comedies- Idiocracy, Office Space, Happy Go Lucky, Mr. Bean, Educational- Discovery Planet Earth Series, Documentary- Columbine, Living Spaces, Into the Wild,

Books:A River Why, Woods Woman, Celestine Prophecy, Five People You will meet in Heaven, A Sand County Almanac, A World Made by Hand, Last American Hero, PLEASE SHARE YOUR FAVORITE BOOKS

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

How can one pick only one thing? I’d have to say the whole of the last nine years have been an amazing journey. Especially the last two years have paid me incredible lessons. In short, I have found that this journey is what we make it, ya obvious right, but it’s a notion I am revisiting… create yourself. <3

I love watching people, simple kindness and compassion. Genuine gestures of goodwill.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love cooking and baking, experimenting with food and trying new recipes. I can teach you a few delicious recipes and would love to learn more. I’m starting to can everything. I want to learn more about canning. I love the earth and strive to preserve it; I would be thrilled to share similar views, new ways of being, functioning as a whole i.e. part of it rather than a self absorbed quasi-creator. I love art and can teach about a little about composition and design, love photography painting, making jewelry.

I enjoy gardening and primitive skills; I have made rope from the inner bark of a bass wood, a basket from birch, and jewelry from quills, dream catchers and moccasins. Love to impress those adventurists the art of juggling burning coals.
