I want to find out the purpose of travelling.

ABOUT ME

I will start introducing myself by answering one of the profile questions. What’s your occupation? Or what do you occupy your time on this earth? I stuck at this question for a while, because I feel like my answers to these two questions are quite different.

My occupation is risk manager for a financial institution. I work on a lot of numbers and often tell people this is too risky and exceeds company limit, so you should not do this. However, I occupy my time on this earth by exploring the world and myself. I am a curious person and like to try new things. New things might not be great, but I won’t be able to tell unless I try. For example, I love trying out different sports. I was learning climbing and swimming beginning of the year in the winter. Summer comes and I am into running and tennis. I also have rollerblade, snowboard, badminton racquet at my house. Well, I have to admit that I am no expert in any of them, but I enjoy myself while trying out them. This leads to the second item that occupying my time on this earth, understanding myself. I don’t think that it is efficient to spread out my effort on too much random items. I want to find my passion. I don’t know how to do this right now. I hope through couchsurfing, through travelling, through talking to people has wonderful experiences, I can see some lights on that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had two great couchsurfing experiences while I was travelling in Europe. It allowed me to experience like a local.

I have learned about couch surfing from a movie. The girl in the movie opened a coffee shop. On the grand opening day, she got a lot of gifts that she did not need. She decided to swap the gifts with her customers. A customer offered to tell the stories he collected around the world. He came to the shop every day to tell her one story. At the end, the girl sold the coffee shop and bought a travel-around-the-world flight ticket, and decided to couch surf around the world.

I like hiking and other outdoor activities because nature is so beautiful. I love trying out new things.
