About Me

ABOUT ME
Hi, I am Amy.
As how Andy Warhol puts it: "The world fascinates me!"
I am a very intellectually curious person and I am always down to have an honest, open, and genuine conversation with people from different walks of life.
I look forward to meet and connect with open-minded people and kindred spirits, and exchange learnings and insights about culture, people, art, philosophies and ways of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had amazing experiences couchsurfing in Melbourne and am very excited to continue this journey! I am based in Shanghai now and soon I hope I will be hosting people and help people from all over the world to understand the beauty of Asia.

Interests

New ideas and people that challenge my existing perspectives.

Music, I love music, currently exploring Berlin's techno scene.

I am a guitar player of 10 years.

I love travelling, you get to see the world from a different point of view, and you open your mind to people who are different from you. You learn to be empathetic, and empathy is what connects us to each other across cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently put on repeat: Peggy Gou and Ben Klock

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Had my own F&B start up venture and opened 15 stores in Taiwan.

Teach, Learn, Share

I consider myself a "local" of Taipei, Hong Kong, Shanghai and the tck village. I like to embark in conversations and questions to exchange experiences and perspectives with an open mind and no assumptions.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My learnings as a third culture kid who has connected with people from various different backgrounds. I am able to compare and critically point out the nuanced differences of each place/culture of I've been in and currently visiting.

Also, I am way funnier in person. There are a lot of shit going on in the world but I am pretty good at finding humor even when Trump is in power and the world is as chaotic as ever.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, China, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Qatar, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
