ABOUT ME

My friend and bandmate Lisa and I
have been travelling constantly for the last 3 years. We are a band (banjo and fiddle and guitar) that play traditional and original folk , old-time, and blues tunes and all sorts of other stuff too.

I like to play music, and listen to it.
I like making things. I like cooking. I grew up near the ocean, and start getting dried out if I'm inland for too long. Ive spent the last 8 years of my life moving around back and forth, playing music, learning as much as I can and spending time try to unravel all of the unseen ropes and chains that keep me from being content and productive. I am sober and in early recovery, so I like to have a lot of quiet time, and try to stay away from parties and big groups.
Mostly I like getting to know people one on one or in small groups... drinkin' tea, and then going to bed early in a quiet corner somewhere , ideally. :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted, I've surfed, I'd like to be able to provide more advice to those who need it on anything I can. Music, touring, money-saving techniques, getting sober, staying safe. I'd like to be able to host more, but I have been touring so consistently that I haven't held down a home for more than a month or two in the last 4 years.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Everybody Ive met through Couchsurfing has made my travel experience infinitely better and more interesting. I haven't had as much experience with it the last few years. Being on tour means you usually have places set up to stay, and your whole itinerary worked out. I'd like to do some solo journeys in the next few years before I turn 30, and I hope to couchsurfing more.

Music - Mostly traditional folk from around the world, 1930s jazz and blues, classic country....

I go through phases of being obsessed with one tv show at a time, that I binge on at night instead of going out. Right now it's Buffy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

bumped into a dolphin underwater, played a show with my favorite band, watched the first sunrise in the southern hempishere, gotten sober
