About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Post-graduation travels

ABOUT ME

I have lived most of my life in a rural Maine. Two years ago I studied abroad in England, and found it a life-changing and profound experience. The summer before returning to the states I traveled across Europe with an English friend. Now that I have graduated, I'm taking advantage of the downtime to travel again.

I'm an introvert and often quiet, but still friendly and open minded. I simply take a bit longer than most to be comfortable around unfamiliar people. I still love to travel and meet new people though! Often I prefer to more than speak.

PHILOSOPHY

I am a scientist, I question the seemingly obvious and am driven by curiosity and a keen desire to learn. If find profound beauty in the complexity of living organisms

I do not consider myself religious or spiritual. However, I do not have a problem with people who are provided they do not force their beliefs upon me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Presently I am couchsurfing wherever my travels take me. My current housing situation is not well suited to hosting couchsurfers. I would love to be involved with couchsurfing events, but there is not an active couchsurfing community where I presently live.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing is a fantastic way to see the world. I used couchsurfing extensively in the summer of 2010. I met interesting people and visited places I would not have found on my own.

The generosity and kindness of strangers was inspiring. I appreciate that people are willing to open their homes and take time to interact with strangers and travelers. In my opinion it is one of the best ways to travel, and when my life is more settled I hope to be able to host couchsurfers.

I consider couchsurfing to be much more than a free place to stay. It's a great way to meet interesting people, and share one's culture.
