About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live at home as if I was traveling

ABOUT ME

I live in Chico, CA. It is where I grew up, and I have returned to it after three years away. I am passionate about Couch Surfing, it has given me so many amazing experiences and introduced me to so many amazing people, and really changed my life.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to live in an open, loving and honest way. Sometimes it's hard, but so is life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Meeting new people, experiencing different cultures including music, dance, food and having fun. I have been hosted in a house of thirty people for carnival in Brazil and by some wonderful people in DF, Mexico.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed in a house in Recife, Brazil with thirty other CSers from all over the world and had the amazing experience of sharing a habitation with thirty other like-minded, interesting people.

Interests

I love new places and cultures and languages. I love reading, writing, cooking, yoga, shopping, wandering and eating.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm reading the short stories of John Updike as well as The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins right now, Entertainment Weekly is my weakness (it's really well written, really!), the last great book I read was "Out of Africa" by Isak Dinesen. I like movies by Wes Anderson, Jim Jarmush, Merchant/Ivory films, French New Wave like "Le Samouraï" and anything narrated by David Attenbourough. Music is too dificult to list, but I love the new Radiohead.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Before I ever heard of CS I was taken in by a French family in Montpellier when I had nowhere to go and didn't even speak very much French, they gave me hope for the people of the world.
Since then I've climbed the Great Wall in China, been in a forrest where millions of Monarch butterflies spend the winter, and stayed on a tiny island with an active volcano off the coast of Sicily.

Teach, Learn, Share

Spanish! French! I would love a conversation partner/free tutor. I am interested in world politics, sustainable agriculture, and cooking, to name a few. I know a lot about writing and literature (mainly fiction) so if you want a second opinion on your masterpiece, hit me up.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belize, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Mexico, United States
