About Me
CURRENT MISSION
"...go all the goddamn way with what matters". - E. Hemmingway
ABOUT ME
A student of life who got temporarily sidetracked by the notions of "normal" and "do what is expected of you". I've decided to shake things up a bit and to start actually doing the things in life that terrify me. Traveling seems like a good place to start!
PHILOSOPHY
"We all have two lives. The second begins when you realize you only have one." - Confucius
"Action is the antidote to despair." - Joan Baez
"Above all, be the heroine of your life, not the victim." - Nora Ephron
I firmly believe that we get the most out of life when we are ACTIVE in living. Living doesn't just mean working and going home, it's an all-inclusive verb. It means observing the world around you and trying to make sense of it; it means getting out there and surprising yourself by doing things you weren't sure were possible; it means exploring and wandering and falling and getting back up. Aristotle believed that beings wouldn't be able to determine whether or not a life was well-lived until they got to the end of it; I think there are ways to live well in the meantime so you can say at the end, 'damn, that was really good.'
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new around here, so I haven't done much "official" CouchSurfing, BUT, I have stayed on friends' futons in Boston, Dallas, and Charleston. I look forward to meeting new people out there...wherever the plane/train/automobile takes me.
