Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Nothing makes me appreciate my home town more than showing it off to guests.

I have had incredible experiences abroad, but I have been a bit lame since returning to Boston. Please help me to help myself. I work primarily nights and am available during the day for lunch or coffee or a museum visit.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My 2008 was my first year of couchsurfing: After waiting tables in a college town for 8 years, I finally decided I needed a break. Thankfully a few of my classes were offered online so I realized that I could be anywhere, and so began my little adventure. I lived and worked in Aspen Colorado for the season; I spent a month in the bay area, bouncing between Napa, Berkeley and San Francisco; I spent the summer in New York City, working at an auction house (wine department naturally). August and September brought more adventures and my introduction to couchsurfing (see below). My adventures down and out in Paris and London: Every host had rocked in their own idiosyncratic way: I was treated like the 4th roommate at Marc's in London; Tina was an incredibly hands on tour guide (and French tutor - two days of immersion!), showing me the best that Dijon and Beaune had to offer; Guillaume showed that the best attraction in Lyon is the couchsurfing community; Pierre wins the superlative "most ambitious host" to date: (7 couchsurfers in one studio and it was still fun); Sammy was the absolute sweetest kindest host in Paris if not the world - stayed out with me till all hours despite having to work the next day - what a trooper!
