About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I've recently moved to London to pursue my music career and for new adventures, after working full time as a musician and performer around Zimbabwe. You can check out my website if you'd like to listen to my music or see where I'm gigging next! www.amyandthecalamities.com

I grew up in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and left after school to study in Cape Town where I lived for 5 years. For me, honesty and good conversation is golden, learning from new and interesting souls as we drift around this magnificent hunk of dirt called earth is the goal. Love to travel, learn new languages, hungry for experience of all kinds.

PHILOSOPHY

Be open and submissive to all things, evaluate the things you're told, the books you read, and 'dismiss anything that insults your own soul.' (Walt Whitman)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting and surfing. I now live in Camden Town, London and I have a comfy couch which is available depending on the time of year and my housemates schedules! I'm in this to meet new people and build friendships so I will definitely show you around my home, share a meal with you or go out for a drink if I have the time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted twice in Cape Town and in Zimbabwe, and have surfed once while I was travelling in Spain - only the best experiences :)

Interests

I'm a musician, I play a mix of folksy blues with my own twist.
Problematic addiction to surfing and anything to do with the ocean.
Reading and discussing books in the non-pretentious-straight-soul-talk kind of way.
