About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see if bicycling long distances is for me.

ABOUT ME

I love travel, reading, games, drama, the arts, history, music. I love learning, whether it's intellectual, cultural, kinetic or about a person through their story. I need to have quiet space to recharge.

PHILOSOPHY

Live justly, love mercy, walk humbly.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

People, freedom, a unique experience. Homes hold the heart of life, each unique in their stories, rituals, and display of creativity and taste--both design and cuisine.

Interests

I have found that I have a written voice and a natural dramatic bent. My written voice best expresses who I am while my stage presence, whether for public speaking or drama, gives me energy and life. I would like to learn the process of taking a written drama from words to stage.

Currently most of my side projects are sewing--clothing, rice bags, skating dresses. I love costumes and would like to learn more in the art of costuming. I would also like to learn techniques for fitting as well as pattern alterations and creation so that what I do is less trial and error.

I am interested in new information, whatever the topic, and ask many questions.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a wide variety of music and movies--it is more about the company I am with when they're playing. I'm not into horror.

As of late, most of my reading is non-fiction. I really enjoy literary fiction and historical fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I met a young boy in Haiti who was uneducated and deaf. The school for the deaf would not allow him entrance because he was both too old at 12 years of age and too poor. I found connections to help pay for his first year and convinced the head mistress to let him in on probation. He became one of her best students so that she even covered some of the finances for his future years. I can experience many thrilling activities and wild rides, but there's nothing so amazing as being part of helping someone discover and find opportunity to live into their value and worth.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help you learn beginner piano or to match your voice to pitch, learn to sew or improve your public speaking all while practicing English if you would like.

I am a quick learner and can help around your place with whatever work you may have.
