About Me
=======Update as of Aug 2018 =======
I'm currently back in Toronto! Working/going to school full-time and my place at the moment is not suitable for hosting unfortunately, but I'm always down to hang out/chat/grab a drink/explore when I do have some time!
I love eating, exploring new places, naturey activities, music fests, lifting/endurance challenges, tech, start-ups, live music, Spanish/Latin America, travelling (surprising I know), good/bad jokes, etc.
Feel free to shoot me a message if you'd like to hang out/chat!
========Cheesy old profile from before the CS change:===========
CURRENT MISSION
To travel as a result of an achievement.
ABOUT ME
All about me? Is that possible in this little box?
I appreciate the little things in life, and I think I'm a pretty level-headed person in most situations. Unbelievably optimistic for others (yeah you, I believe in you! unless you're about to go commit a crime but hopefully not). I laugh, joke, eat. I get lost in beautiful music, a sucker for the lame romantic things but actually not lame because I like them hell yeah Backstreet Boys! and I enjoy meeting others and hearing others's life stories.
I try to continually better myself because who doesn't want to have the intellectual abilities of Tony Stark? I aspire to realize my entrepreneurial ambitions, and everything I do these days align with this goal. I love learning languages, and put a lot of effort in self-learning different subjects because it is superbly fun. Overall, I have an unfaltering desire to learn and have the perhaps naive goal to change the world one day. There rarely comes a subject that I'm not interested in, which is problematic when it comes to determining a career field, but no problem, because that means I'm rarely bored. Only anxious when I know I could be spending my time better.
Life without passion in anything is dry. I want to learn as much as I can and experience as many things as I can in my lifetime.
I'm here because well, needless to say, I love travelling. Through travelling I've got a better idea of my tolerance for risk, learned a lot, and met so many people I wouldn't have otherwise met. Travelling has also allowed me to get a taste of different cultures, and now I can't keep the thoughts of Latin America away from my mind. Damn.
So yeah! It's so nice of you to come by. =)
PHILOSOPHY
Why do I live my life? Damn, that is a deep question.
I am extremely grateful to have more or less full control of my life; to have the freedom to make my own decisions free of any form of suppression that I cannot control. With that, I consider life to be essentially an x number of years that I'm given (and for free!) for me to do whatever it is that I'd like while I'm still living and breathing. When you think about life like that, I don't think anyone should be bothered with the irrelevant and unnecessary things in life. We're all ultimately heading to the same destination. Life is short, but if you're privileged enough to have control over yours, it's completely yours, and you're free to make whatever you want of it.
Know what you want, be objective with your path to get there, and persevere.
My ultimate goal in life is to make a meaningful contribution to the world. We'll see how I do that.

Music, Movies, and Books
--------
Movies
--------
Woohoo, movies! I think I've spent more than a month of my life just watching movies. Longer if you factor in the time required to conduct those bodily functions. Maybe I need to get out more.... (or not ha)
Some of my favourites: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Illusionist, Spirited Away, Predestination, Moulin Rouge, Before Sunset, The Incredibles, Road to Perdition, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Midnight in Paris, La La Land
--------
Music
--------
If it can make me cry, want to caress Queen Elizabeth's most expensive cashmere, dance, feel like a thug, inspired, floating through space, or like I'm swift as the coursing river, then I probably like it.
I really love all sorts of music, from jazz to alternative rock, to corny pop songs, to electronic music. Anything chill or groovin' is swell.
I am currently particularly sucked into the electronic music scene, and love going to music fests and seeing DJs that play especially trance/progressive house. Some fave DJs of the moment: Above+Beyond, Jason Ross, Armin van Buuren, Super8 + Tab, Zeds Dead. I am always game to dance.

Books
--------
Haven't come across any books I could call a favourite yet unfortunately, but I really enjoy reading non-fics on tech and entrepreneurship.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Experiences still pending with this one.
But so far...
- snorkelling in the Indian Ocean
- getting up and close with nature in Kenya (no Lion King sunset, but cool stuff nonetheless)
- resisting ice cream on a few occasions
- travelling to Peru
- EDC in Vegas
- Tomorrowland
- backcountry camping in the fall
- getting burnt out by travelling from visiting 7 cities in 1.5 months; a true first world problem
Teach, Learn, Share
- Want to play piano like the great pianists? Tackle difficult pieces by maestros like Beethoven, Lizst, Debussy? Well I can't teach you exactly that. But, I can teach you how to read sheet music and some piano so you're one step closer to playing the piano like those magnificent human beings.
- I speak Mandarin Chinese like the other 69 billion people on this planet. I also speak Shanghainese, and English (surprise). You can practise any of those languages with me!
- This is not school, but why the heck not, I can teach ya programming/how to do calculus.
Para mi, si tu hablas español, me encantaría tener un intercambio de idioma contigo usando inglés y español (aunque es muy probable que tengas que tener mucha paciencia conmigo es evidente de mi gramática horrible aquí). jaja.
