About Me

ATTENTION: I will be traveling in South America during the months of April and May and have surfers scheduled through March. My couch is now closed until early June. Thanks!

CURRENT MISSION

To learn, to live with confidence and continue growing and changing

ABOUT ME

I'm creative, outgoing and curious about everything. I love art, animals, wine, technology and reading. Politically I'm a liberal and a feminist. But more than anything, I love to have fun and I love to laugh.

Currently, I'm planning a two month trip to South America and studying Spanish.

PHILOSOPHY

Be open, tolerant and positive. Make scary jumps into the unknown. Try not to let fear of change and failing rule life. Learn from others and always try to empathize with their viewpoints and experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I'm doing a lot of hosting and making lots of friends. I'll be traveling soon and can't wait to see those friends again!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosting surfers has been amazing. I have met so many warm, gifted and incredible people since last October when I first joined. It's so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day grind and forget who I am within the greater scheme of things. Having people from all over the world circulating through my home helps keep the bigger picture in the forefront: life is for living and people who seem strikingly different on the surface, are actually, on the inside, very much identical.

Interests

People, cats, the arts, biking, cats, reading, cats, dining (cats) out, traveling, psychology, cats, cultural (cat) studies...I don't think there's much I'm not interested in although there are obviously some things I'm more interested in than others.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books, books, books. I love them the most and tend to hoard them. Music: all my guests have introduced me to new music and it's awesome.

All time favorite movies: All Dogs Go To Heaven, Finding Nemo and Sound of Music. Otherwise, I don't watch movies much because for some reason I can't watch movies by myself. Instead I end up watching TV shows. So if you come stay, help me watch movies!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

China - the Great Wall and the underground soldiers in Xi'an. Sardinia, Italy - I went there with a native and was stunned at the beauty and a culture still living like it's almost 100 years ago.

Also, I come from a very poor family and am one of six kids. Me and my sisters are the first generation to graduate from college. That's an amazing accomplishment for us.

Teach, Learn, Share

By learning Spanish, I want to eventually be able to read some of the greatest literature in the world in its original Spanish: Cervantes, Pablo Neruda, Gabria Garcia Marquez and Isabel Allende are a few who come to mind. For me learning Spanish isn't just about speaking it and getting around a foreign country. It's about opening a door into another world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Laughter and great conversation. A furry cat with demanding Meows.
