About Me

Important! Do not send a generic request or a request without reading my profile! I’m interested in connecting with people, and if you just look for a free couch, look elsewhere! I will not reply if you do so. I don’t owe a reply to every person that writes to me but generally I try my best to reply something. Generally I only host if I can see a potential connection. If I declined your request, please don’t take it personal.
I do speak Russian but I don’t want to be used as a teacher (your safe bet is not to mention Russian at all unless you feel compelled you must). I am many things, look below, surely you will find something you can relate to.

I'm a Russian-German entrepreneur building my second company. Being an easy-going, curious, open-minded, and flexible person, I like a lot of things, for example, jogging, visiting new places (that refers not only to new countries and cities but also to new restaurants, cafes and other "locations"), getting to know new people, studying, going to museums. I also like physics, space, investments, entrepreneurship. I like doing different things, for instance, driving a car (love Teslas), dancing, playing chess, singing in karaoke-bars, watching series, solving riddles and puzzles, playing financial board games, riding a bike, going for long strolls, and I'm always up for anything fun.

I’ve lived in the US, UK, Russia and now in Germany.

I don't smoke, I don't drink a lot. I'm very tidy and respectful. I don’t tolerate abusive behavior of any kind.

I host only when I see an exceptionally well-matched person, any gender. I get a lot of requests so may not be able to respond to everyone. If I don’t host you, please don’t take it personally.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I like traveling, I visit a lot of places but I think that a genuine traveling experience involves meeting locals, getting to know the traditions and the everyday routine of those living in the country you visit, so I believe staying with locals is the best opportunity to get acquainted to the country and to understand it. Also, as I travel by myself, I like hanging out with someone as opposed to being on my own all the time. I have recently started hosting and I like giving back to the CS community.

Interests

I have already mentioned some of them in the section "About Me", but here are other things that interest me: I love music (different kinds of it, especially classic rock and rap, both in English and in German), I'm fond of escape games, I prefer talking to writing. I like reading, sports, I regularly go to the gym and I adore jogging (when it's not so cold, I run in the mornings). Fishing could be fun, and there are so many things I have no idea about -- please, tell me about something you love!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - classic rock: Queen, AC/DC (I was on their concert in June, 2015), Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Metallica (Was at their concert in July, 2019). Also German music - Sido, Fler, Rammstein, Die Ärzte. I also like Lady Gaga, Muse, Depeche Mode, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns N'Roses, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Katy Perry, The Black Keys, Oasis, The Beatles, System Of A Down... Well, I enjoy different kinds of music, I think it's impossible to mention here everything.
Movies - well, I can't describe it thoroughly, I would name some of them: Parasite, Inception, Interstellar, Sacrificing Pawn, Green Mile, Bridge of Spies, NaPola - Elite für den Führer. And many other movies. Speaking about series, I enjoyed Good Omens, Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, Breaking Bad, Sherlock Holmes BBC, Desperate Housewifes, House of Cards, and (shame on me) Vampire Diaries, The Big Bang Theory, Shameless, Black Mirror, the Good Wife, Better call Saul.
Books - I used to be a Russian literature teacher (among other things), so I absolutely love Pushkin, Gogol, Mayakowski, Dostoevski. I'm a Harry Potter dedicated fan! As for international literature, I enjoyed reading 1984, Fahrenheit 451, Red and Black, The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Hobbit, or There and Back Again, Lord of Flies, The brave new world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have built a startup and now building a second one

Teach, Learn, Share

I studied political science at FU Berlin, aerospace engineering at TU Berlin, and did an exchange year in the US. I also took MBA classes. I used to be a tutor of English, German as foreign languages. I've visited a lot of countries (information about that below) and can share this experience. I'm also open to anything new (unless it’s illegal - then I’m not your woman).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I collect postcards and love sending them, so I can bring postcards from where I live now.
Also I’ve been lucky to collect a lot of learning experience in entrepreneurship, fundraising, career advancement, networking, mentoring, and how to have a loving relationship with yourself and find inner harmony, which I’m happy to share with my hosts and guests.
